Fun, funky & vibrant – apt descriptions of both the Re-Inspiration Store and its web site. The store, which sells art, household items and gifts made from recycled materials, was in its infancy when we launched the site, and as with most small business start-ups, its owners were time challenged and cost conscious. It was important that the site fit the store’s personality, but it was imperative that the owners could maintain it with only an occasional assist from me. WordPress, in combination with a theme I custom designed with Re-Inspiration’s input, fit the bill nicely.

The Gallery section showcases an ever-changing collection of images highlighting Re-Inspiration Store’s unique merchandise. In addition to artist-created merchandise, the Re-Inspiration Store offers visitors space and materials to create their own “re-inspired” items. A Calendar page allows the easy addition of workshops and special events, all automatically ordered and removed when the date passes.

Recent upgrades to the site included:

  • refreshing the design
  • stronger focus on highlighting the online shop
  • changing to an easier to manage image upload and display process
  • bringing the store’s Blogger blog into WordPress
  • a renewed commitment to blogging by the store’s owner

The owner, who maintains ReInspirationStore.com herself, reports that after these changes the site’s position on search engine results pages (SERPs) improved dramatically.
